AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP Maintaining the excellent form she showed in the earlier rounds, Mrs P. R. Glanville (Te Awamutu) yesterday successfully defended her title of Auckland ■women’s provincial golf champion, defeating in the final Mrs K. Dyke, 2 and 1. Mrs Dyke was formerly Miss Joyce Betts, of Nelson, a New Zealand {Tasman Cup representative. ONSLOW CLUB The final for the Margaret Adair Knock-out Cup was played on Wednesday between Mrs F. Megget and Mrs A. C. Swanson. The former established mn early lead and after nine holes was 5 up. Over the.second njne holes Mrs Swanson staged a brilliant recovery and squared the match at the seventeenth. Mrs Megget won the eighteenth and became the first holder of the cup. The first _ qualifying rounds of the club championships have been played fcnd some good cards have been handed in.
