OBITUARY
MR D. C. CAMPBELL The death occurred yesterday of Mr Daniel Currie Campbell, at the age of 64 years. For the past 10 years he had been storeman, timekeeper, and postmaster for the Public Works Department at the Hollyford Valley, and was well known throughout Otago. He was born in Scotland, coming to New Zealand at an early age and receiving bis education at the Albany Street School, where he was dux. In Dunedin he was prominent in many sports, being a member of the Pirates Football Club. Ha saw Army service in the Boer War, and had the honour of being chosen by Captain Findlay as one of those to attend the peace conference. As a young man he was employed on Ardmore Station, at Kelso, anil later he managed tha Cookrock Station for several years. Ten years ago he joined the Public Works staff at the Hollyford. His helpfulness and courtesy made him remembered affectionately by many visitors and others. He is survived by his wife and two sons—Mr Ernest Campbell, of Methven, and Mr Garth Campbell, of Dunedin.
