Mr L. J. Schmitt, Secretary of tha Department of Industries and Commerce, left to-day on his return to Wellington. The Right Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland, Bishop of Wellington, who recently underwent an operation, has returned to his home from hospital. Mr K. Guuji, who was Consul-Gene-ral for Japan at Wellington till hia transfer to a similar post at Honolulu at the beginning of this year, has been recalled to Tokio. A passenger on the north express this morning was Mr P. S. Glasson, of tha Bank of Australasia, who will be relieving the mahager in'Timaru for three W6@ks Staying at the City Hotel are Mr E, R. Williams (Wellington), Mr C. L, Veron (Christchurch), Mr J. A. Pickard (Invercargill). On the guest list at Wain’s Hotel am Mr W. J. Forrester (Auckland), Me W- K. Lloyd, Captain S. E. G. Gregory (Wellington), Mr C. B. Clarke, Mr W. J. Burton. Mr M. K. Lawson. (Christchurch), Mrs J. MacKenzie (Walter Peak), Mr F. J. Handcock (Waipori Falls), Mr and Mrs J. Garvie (Invercargill). New registrations at the Carlton Hotel are Mr A. M. Franklin (Christchurch). Mr W. Thomson (Queenstown), Mr T. Piper (Invercargill).
