Daily Intercession
I was an hungred, and ye gave* me meat: I was.thristy, and ye gave me drink; I was a stranger and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was m prison, and ye came unto me . . . Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me. — (Matthew xxv.: 35ff.)
Our Father, give ns grace to see either suffering or joy with insight; give us understanding and sympathy, and use us to make happy and strong the hearts of others. Look down with pity upon those who are suffering the miseries of tear, the wounded and the dying, the sorrowing and bereaved, the homeless and landless, and in Thy mercy heal them all. And bless all who minister to every need of body and soul, that they may do so as unto Thee: through Jesus Christ our Lord.
