GOVERNMENT TAKES SERIOUS VIEW THE MACDONALD MINE TROUBLE [Special to the ‘ Stae.’J WELLINGTON, September 12. “ The Government is taking a very serious view of those continued stoppages,” declared Mr Webb, Minister of Labour, commenting to-day on further trouble at the MacDonald mine, in the Waikato. “ The importance of coal supply must be apparent to everybody,” continued Mr Webb, “ and no matter who is to blame, whether the management or the • men, work must be continued and disputes dealt with in keeping with the conditions of the agreement. Mr C. L. Hunter has been sent to Auckland to convey the Government’s attitude both to the management and the men. He will specially* emphasise the serious view which the Government is taking of this matter.”
