BALMACEWEN TENNIS CLUB
The minimal meeting of the above club was held in the club’s new social hall at Balmacewcn. In moving the adoption of the annual report the Chairman congratulated the club on completing a successful year both socially and financially. He stated that, on account of the war, the club was losing about half its male members, and would of necessity have to rely more on the ladies. It was decided that members absent on military duties, either overseas or within Now Zealand, should be made honorary members of the club during their absence from Dunedin. The following office-bearers were elected; —President, Mr A. M'Millan; secretary. Mr A. A. Orton; committee —Miss B. Melville, Mrs A. Tyrrell, Miss B Thomson. Messrs T. C. L. Scrivener, A. Tyrrell. 11. S. M'Kenzie; chib captain, Mr T. O. L. Scrivener; ladder secretarv. Miss B. Thomson ; delegates to 0.L.T.A.. Mr A M'Millan and Mr T. C. L. Scrivener. It was decided to open the courts for the season on September 14. Members wore the guests of the president at supper.
