WON BY GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, September 10. , (Received September 11, at 8 a.m.) The by-election for the Croydon seat in the New South Wales Assembly, due ; to the ex-Pfemier’s (Mr B. S. Ste- : vens) resignation to contest a Federal seat, resulted in the Government candidate, Mr David Hunter, having a comfortable victory by over 2,000 votes over the Official Labour nominee, Mr George Weir.
