MORNINGTON RATEPAYERS

MEETING OF ASSOCIATION At a meeting of the executive of the Mornington District Ratepayers and Householders’ Association, Mr A. Ibbotson presided. As a good many property owners have not complied with a request to cut hedges overgrowing footpaths, it was decided to make a further appeal to the City Council to ask its inspector to make a general tour of the district. Satisfaction was expressed that some ratepayers had paid the necessary attention to this matter, but it was considered that there were still many dangerous parts. A request was recently made to the City Council, urging it to support the holding of elections at the usual time. Satisfaction was expressed on receipt of a reply in favour of the request. On the same question a reply had been received from the Minister of Internal Affairs, stating that the Government would consider the matter carefully before reaching a decision,
