Daily Intercession
A World Distraught. And Jesus tvent about all the cities and the villages, teaching in . their synagogues, and preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, and healing all manner of disease, and all manner of sickness. But when He saw the multitudes He was moved with compassion for them, because they were distressed and scattered, as sheep not having a shepherd. — (Matthew ix.: 35-36.) Merciful Father, who art afflicted in the afflictions of Thy people and dost grieve over the miseries of Thy children, as they reap the whirlwind, we pray that Thou wilt stand by those who have been forced to resort to war to stem tho flood of moral anarchy and lust for power. Give guidance unto the King and all in authority, courage to our defenders on land, sea, and in the air, ' patience and hope to those who suffer through the ravages of tear, repentance to our enemies, and to all a desire for Thy world-tvide community of compassionate brethren; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
