CRICKET
Y.M.G.A. CLUB The annual meeting of the above club was held last evening, Mr J. Breeso being in the chair. The annual report showed that a most successful season had been experienced, and the financial position was very satisfactory. The matter of the number of teams to be entered in competitions was held over. Some of. tho club’s players had volunteered for active service and several were in the Territorials.
The suggestion that the Otago Cricket Association might consider oneday matches on account of the uncertainty of tha movement of players was favourably received. The following officers were elected: — Patron, Mr J. L. Salmond; president, Mr C. J. Darracott; vice-presidents— Messrs M. C. Henderson, P. Findlay, J. Y. Love, J. Breese, R. Herbert, J. Purdie, Mrs E. Aslin; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. H. Don Miller; delegate to 0.C.A., Mr Miller; Management Committee —Messrs R. Riley, F. Breese, L. Lees, C. Moffitt, Rev. W. R. Francis; Selection Committee —Team captains and Mr J. Breese. Mrs E. Asliu’s trophy for the most improved player was won by P. Miller. It was decided to open the season on October 7.
