SUPPLY OF NEWS
REVIEW OF PRESENT ARRANGEMENTS LONDON, September 28. (Received September 29, at 1 p.m.) Mr Chamberlain, in the House of Commons, said; “ As a result of Lord Macmillan’s request on a clarification of his position, I wish to state that his responsibility for news does not extend beyond provision of the means for its communication to the P.ress. His function has been the simple'issue from a central source of __ whatever news is made available by the other Government departments. Lord Macmillan is now engaged upon a review of the arrangements for the distribution of news, including the question of direct contacts between the Press and the departments.”-
