FATAL COLLISION
MAN KILLED, WIFE AND CHILDREN INJURED [Pee United Press Association.] WANGANUI, September 25. A man was killed And his wife and four children received injuries necessitating their removal to hospital when two cars collided on the main highway near the Warrengate turn-off. —Killed.— James Haggart, aged 42, employed at Bonny Glen. —lnjured. Mrs Haggart, shock, condition satisfactorv. Basil Haggart, aged 12, minor cuts, condition satisfactory. John Haggart, aged 10, minor cuts, condition satisfactory.
Two younger children, one a baby girl, were slightly injured. The collision occurred near the centre of the road. The body of Mr Haggart’s car was torn, and wreckage was strewn along the highway for many yards.
Later a car driven by Mr S. Dustin. Wanganui, capsized in some rubble about half a mile from the Warrengate turn-off. Mr Dustin was slightly injured, but Mrs Dustin had to receive medical attention.
