HOMILY WINS BIG HANDICAP STEEPLES TO BLUE STEEL The Marten Jocke.v Club's Spring ■Meeting was held in fine weather before a large attendance. The track was in good order. In the Spring Hack Handicap Richelieu Pearl (J. Williamson) fell two furlongs from the finish and brought down Classform (H. Stewart). Williamson suffered slight concussion. Princess Isabel fell heavily in the Hack and Hunters’ Steeplechase, broke a shoulder, and had to be destroyed. The totalisator handled £15,767 10s, against £16,146 10s, a decrease of £379. The Smiler was fourth. Time, Imin 2 4-ssec. JOCKEY SUSPENDED. An inquiry was held into an incident in the Spring Hack Handicap, in which Richelieu Pearl fell, bringing down Classform. T. F. Kilgour, the rider of Kaiwaka, was suspended for two months for careless riding.
