FRIENDLY GAMES COMPETITIVE MATCHES TO RESUME LONDON, September 23. Friendly football matches were played to-day. The football crowds are strictly controlled, and they averaged 4,000 at to-day’s matches. All is now set for the early resumption of_ competitive matches on a regional basis. The London clubs have agreed to form a league, and the other regions are likely to follow suit.
