ENGLISH TEAM'S VISIT CANCELLED ,[Pek Uin ted Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 22. The New Zealand and Australian tour of an English women’s cricket team, which was planned to take place in February next as part of the centennial celebrations, has been cancelled because of the international situation. The secretary of the New Zeaalnd Women’s Cricket Council has received the following cablegram from the English Women’s Association: “ Regret international conditions make tour an impossibility; trust it is a pleasure deferred, but our country needs us.” Three matches were to have been played in New Zealand—a test against a Now Zealand team at Wellington, a match against the North Island at Auckland, and one against the South Island at Christchurch.
