(From Our Oamaru Correspondent. 1 EXCELSIOR FOOTBALL CLUB. At the annual dinner of the Excelsior Club’s third and fourth grade players Mr A 11. Low. who represented the North Otago Rugby Union, presented trophies to the following :—I. de Joux (Mr W. Currie’s trophy for third grade player who has done most for his team) ; D. Robb (Mr J. Easton’s cup. keenest forward); F. Diver (Mr J. Forbes’s cup, best back) ; H. M'Kensde (Mr IR. Elder’s cup for player attending most practices); I. Forbes (Mr Elder’s cup for fourth grade player at-tending-most practices) ; K. Hutcheou (fourth grade player who had done most for his team). A gift was made to the coach, Mr Elder, and a vote of thanks was passed to Mr W. G. Williams, who donated the dinner. DRAMA LEAGUE. The winning teams of the British Drama League’s South Island festivals during recent months are to compete at an elimination festival at Oamaru. and the winning team will go to the New Zealand linal at Timaru. PERSONAL. On the eve of his transfer on promotion to Hamilton, Mr Douglas Robertson was met by the staff of Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. at Oamaru and was presented with a travelling rug. Reference was made by the manager (Mr G. Elvidge) to the excellent service given by Mr Robertson during his 10 years’ association with the company. HOCKEY. At a meeting of the North Otago Men’s Hockey Subxassociation it was decided to close the interclub competitions, Oamaru A were congratulated on winning the Jacobs Cup. FROM THE AIR. Photographs of Oamaru from the air were taken yesterday by a Dunedin photographer. They will be used for the transparency of Oamaru in the Otago court at the Centennial Exhibition. MINIATURE RIFLES. A “ married y. single ” match, fired by the members of the Maheno Miniature Rifle Club, was won by the single men. The best scores wore made by A. Gibson 80 and W. Gerinski 79 (married), and D. Grant and J. Clark 79 (single). N. Caldwell won the weekly trophy, K, Nicholson being runnerjup.
