SWEDISH AVIATOR’S FATE
LAST MESSAGE BELIEVED TO HAVE BEEN FOUND NOTE IN A IOTTLI Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright STOCKHOLM, September 20. (Received September 21, at 10.30 a.m.) A note found in a bottle in Ide Fiord read: “ SOS! Forced down in mid-At-lantic. If no help comes in, three days I am lost.—Signed Backman.” It is believed that it was the last tragic call of the Swedish aviator Carl Baokman, who disappeared in the Atlantic last May while flying in a plana ill-fitted for an ocean flight*
