PRICE STABILISATION DECREE REPRESENTATIONS TO MSNISTER [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 21. '‘The whole xiosition of traders has reached an impasse; it is chaotic,” declared Mr Gainor Jackson at a meeting of the council of the Chamber of Commerce when the import control and price stabilisation regulations were discussed. Attention was drawn to the impracticability of certain ' price regulation clauses, and it was reported that representations had been made to the Minister by the president, Mr A. Ely. Mr Jackson said there was no such price stabilisation decree in operation in Great Britain, Canada, or Australia. Goods were arriving to-day which were costing more, yet importers were not allowed to pass on the added cost. Furthermore, they were not allowed to refuse to supply the goods at prices ruling a!t September ■!. The president’s action in communicating with the Minister was approved.
