WIN FOR GOLD SALUTE SYDNEY, September 20. Races were held' at Warwick Farm to-day. The New Zealander, Gold Salute, was in a class above bis opponents in the Three-year-old Handicap, which he won quite easily. Gold Salute will now start in the A.J.C. Derby, in which he will be ridden by A. E. Ellis, who to-day rode him. He was summoned before the stewards for allegedly interfering with another horse. Ellis received a warning and a reprimand. The Three-year-old. Handicap, £250, seven furlongs, resulted : GOLD SALUTE, 9.4 (Ellis) ...' ... 1 Jazbeau, 8.10 (W. Cool) 2 Pearl of Asia, 8.11 (Lappin) 3 Seventeen started.
Won by a length and a-half, with three lengths between 'second and third. Time, Imin 25jsec. The Flying Handicap, £250, seven furlongs, resulted in a dead-beat between Tuhitarata and Nonnanby, with Might Not third.
