ORPHANS’ CLUB
ENTERTAINS BLIND GUESTS Bro. C. V. Smith (vice-pre-sident) occupied the chair at the fortnightly gathering of the Dunedin Orphans’ Club, when a number of members of the Social Club of the Blind were the guests of tli© evening. The Chairman, while welcoming these guests, also extended a welcome to a former president of the club, Mr H. Turner, who is on a visit to his native city from London. 'An attractively varied programme was presented, tho principal item being ‘ Toreador Farce,’ which had been written by Bro. J., Gordon. The three characters were played by Bros. J. Gordon, !E. P. Murphy, and H. M. Esrgers, whose antics and lines were greatly appreciated. The club’s orchestra, under Bro. J. Clarke, played several enjoyable selections, and songs by Bros. Arthur Macdonald, L. B. Borrow,, and George M‘Donald were well received. Bro. W. Smith gave a tenor horn solo and Bro. H. Russell a recitation. .Bro.
