MAINLY FAIR TO CLOUDY The following weather forecast was issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern district: —Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton. Invercargill, Riverton. Orepuki, Halfmoon Bay : Pressure is high over New Zealand, with an anti-cyclone centred to the north. A series of depressions is passing in the south. Forecast: Moderate to fresh northerly to north-westerly winds. Some scattered rain possible in the south-west, but weather mainly fair to cloudy, with milder day and cold night temperatures. Seas slight to moderate, but rising somewhat in Foveaux Strait, LOCAL REPORT. Maximum temperature to-day, 64deg. Maximum yesterday (24 hours), 63deg. Maximum Saturday (24 hours) t •56.2 deg.
