OTAGO CRICKET LEAGUE

ANNUAL MEETING The twenty-seventh annual meeting of the Otago Cricket League was held in the Y.M.C.A. The president (Mr D. C. Cameron) extended a welcome to the delegates of two new clubs which sought affiliation. The Chairman referred to the war and the effect it might have on the coming season’s cricket. He asked for the fullest co-operation of all players and supporters to keep the game alive through the difficult year they were entering upon. In keeping the league in existence those who remained would be doing a service for those who were called to the colours. The speaker congratulated the members on a successful season. The popularity of the game was shown in the numerical strength of the clubs and players, the number of clubs taking part in the competitions being 28.
