TREASURE IN A WELL
Although old gold and silver coin to the value of £2OO were obtained from it, the authorities have forbidden further treasure seeking in an abandoned well some 150 ft deep, known as “ The Pit of Death,” at Tacubaya, near Mexico City, because two men and a woman lost their lives from suffocation while exploring these depths. The pit is one of several places in the locality that are known to contain treasure. One old house yielded £5,000 in coin and jewels.
