A certain judge, famed for his unruffled behaviour in any crisis, once had the misfortune to fall down the stairs. He fell from the very top to the very bottom —bouncing on each stair, and finishing by rolling right across the corridor. One of his servants, hearing the disaster, rushed up to help. “ I hone your Honour isn’t hurt? ” asked the man anxiously. “ No,” replied the judge, with a wry smile, “ it’s not my honour that is hurt.”
