MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS A meeting of the Management Committee of the Otago Football Association was held last night. The president (Mr M. K. Haig) was in the chair. COMPETITIONS CLOSED. There was a short discussion on the question of playing further matches after the conclusion of the competitions, but it was finally decided to declare the senior division competition for the Fletcher Cup closed, the winner being Mosgiel (29 points) and the runner-up being Northern (28 points). It was also decided to close the second grade competition, the winner being Caversham (19 points), with Mosgiel (16 points) runner-up. FIVE-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. A suggestion that a five-a-side competition open to teams of first and second grade players, be played on September 23 was discussed, and the secretary was instructed to call for entries. It was also decided that an entry fee of os a team be charged, the winning side to receive medals. A DISPUTED GOAL. Advice was received from the New Zealand Football Association that the protest entered by the Mosgiel Club against the decision of the referee in the South Island final of the Chatham Cup competition, in allegedly awarding a goal in Mosgiel’s favour and then reversing his decision, had been dismissed on law and points of fact. This had been the decision of the Protest Committee and was confirmed by the council of the association. The letter was received. PRIMARY SCHOOLS.
