SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS AGO TO-DAY, Mr A. R. Chetham Strode occupied the position of first president of the Dunedin Savings Bank, a post he held from 1864 until 1882. Mr Strode was the first magistrate appointed to the province of Otago.
