Litvinov the General Committee of the Assembly decided in favour of the stablishment of a committee representative of all States to deal “ with the question of the application of the principles of the Covenant,” otherwise the Covenant and League reform. DISAPPOINTING ASSEMBLY NEW ZEALANDER’S IMPRESSIONS. GENEVA, October 8. (Received October 9, at 10.30 a.m.) The Associated Press states that Mr Campbell, of New Zealand, who is on the Economic Committee, described the Assembly as the most disappointing of recent times. Even the currency agreement, he said, was achieved outside the League, and even this scarcely touched the real economic problem. It was impossible to escape the conclusion that it was only fooling with the outer fringes of the difficulties. At the very moment the committee was discussing nutrition, food was being destroyed because it was unprofitable to, market it. CHINA AND LATVIA. GENEVA, October 8. (Received October 9, at 2 p.m.) The Assembly has elected China and Latvia to non-permanent seats on the Council.
