AUCKLAND MEETING THE FINAL GALLOPS [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, October 8. The final gallops in connection with the Auckland Racing Club’s Spring Meeting were carried out in ideal conditions this morning, and some attractive gallops were recorded. The course proper, with the poles 35ft out, was open, also the No. 3 grass track, while several youngsters worked on the two-year-old track. The going was in first-class order. The best efforts of the morning over the distance were those of Fersen, Spiral, Red Manfred, and Mazir; while Bowyang, Valspear, Crooning, Laughing Lass, and Entail impressed. On the course proper Kilonsoa opened the proceedings by running five furlongs in Imin 6 4-ssec, the first two in 27sec. Jewelled Girdle and Roman Mascot ran seven furlongs in Imin 35 2-ssec, the first half-mile in 52 4-ssec. Jewelled Girdle was in front.

Waitaka was doing better than High Star over five furlongs in Imin 7 l-ssec. Knight of Australia ran seven furlongs in Imin 34sec. Salva assisted him home, the last half-mile taking 53sec. Morning Sun ran five furlongs in Imin 7 2-ssec. Over a similar distance Yalspear recorded Imin 5 4-ssec, the first two in 25 3-ssec, a good effort. > Laughing Lass and Entail, after running the first three furlongs in 39 4-ssec, got to the end of six furlongs in Imin 20sec, with little between them. Both worked well.

The stablemates Master Brierly and Lord Yal did a mile in Imin 46 2-ssec, a good effort. Master Brierly was staying on nicely. Kelly ran six furlongs, the first three in 40sec and the full distance in Imin 19 l-ssec.

Lightly weighted Tooley Street and Tybalt ran seven _ furlongs in Imin 34sec. Caliente joined in at six furlongs, the latter distance taking Imin 21sec.

Tidewaiter and Cardsharper were too good for Little Man over half a mile in 51 4-ssec. The first-named pair shaped well for novices. After running the first two furlongs in 25 2-ssec, Gay Defence was doing his work nicely at the end of five furlongs, done in Imin 6 3-sscc. Royal Appellant and Horowhenua traversed a round in 2min lOsoc, the final six furlongs in Imin 22 l-ssec, a satisfactory performance.

Tip Lap was doing better than Haputale over half a mile in 52see.

Fersen, Spiral, and Mnngatoon ran a round in 2min 7 2-ssec, the final halfmile in 54 4-ssec. Spiral was a shade in front, but Fersen, who gave them the better of the start, and was on the outside, worked in great stylo. After breakfast Mazir did a round in 2min 8 4-ssec, the last seven furlongs in. Imin 34 2-ssec. Golden Blonde assisted him over the final six in Imin 21 2-ssec. The Welcome Stakes candidate Bowyang reeled off half a mile in 51sec, the fastest of the morning over the distance.

Karl and Red Manfred ran seven furlongs in Imin 33 2-ssec, the first half-mile in 61 2-ssec. Red Manfred, who impressed by his effort, could have improved on the time. British Nation and Privy Seal covered half a mile in 63 l-6sec on terms. Aiwai and Francis Drake, after taking 25 3-sseo for the first two furlongs, registered Imin 6 4-ssec for five. Francis Drake pleased, and Aiwai also hit out well. Marjory Daw heat Gar Vaals by several lengths over half a mile in 52 2-ssec.

Crooning, after commencing slowly, shaped well over five furlongs in Imin 6sec.

Fleetwind ran half a mile in 53 2-ssec.

The jumpers, Miss Pengo (M'Dowell) , Znne Grey (Baker’), Kind Rod (Fergus), Invictus (L. Dulieu), Kaola (Thomson), and Vilma (Turvcy) were companions in a round over the steeplechase course. They all gave a safe display, and Miss Pango, who' was up with Zane Grey in the lead at the finish, shaped best. King Rod and

Invictus were not far away, and their efforts were also satisfactory. Invictus’s fencing will ensure him friends on Saturday. . Mungacre was allotted useful pace work on the, sand, and looks, in fine trim for his engagements at the meeting. H. Dulieu, with Royal Secret, and J. Brown, with Notium, arrived this morning.
