ROADING EXPERIMENTS
CONSTRUCTION AND TREATMENT TECHNICAL COMMITTEE FORMED (British Official Wireless.) Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright RUGBY, October 5. More than 60 experiments have been begun by the Roads Department and the Ministry of Transport under the guidance of a technical committee, with the object of finding the best materials for the construction and surface treatment of roads. These experiments relate to determination of the best colour for road surfaces from the point of view of night driving, to the durability of various forms of top-dressings, and to the problem of skidding. They are being carried out in various parts of the country.
