RAID AND PROSECUTIONS

OFFENDERS AGAINST GAMING LAWS FINED [Per United Press Association.] BLENHEIM, October 7. Fines of £25 and £ls respectively were imposed in the Blenheim Police Court this morning on Robert Ferris, hairdresser, and Ernest Francis Budd, confectioner, both of Blenheim. The charges concerned the use of premises as common gaming houses, and the prosecutions were the result of a police raid on Saturday, when betting material was discovered. Both defendants admitted carrying on tEe business of bookmakers.
