Another Big Increase in Investments TALKING ANNEXES A.J.C DERBY Silver Ring’s Brilliant Win The spring racing calendar is now well under way. There were four meetings on Saturday—at Kurow, Taumaranui, Otaki, and Methven (trots). The interest of southern punters was centred on Kurow, where Queen Dorothy won the Cup. In a trotting event at this meeting Master Garry scored his first success in about sixty starts. The totalisatpr returns at these four meetings showed another sharp increase. In the aggregate, the machines handled £50,988, as against £30,531 10s for the same fixtures last year. At Taumaranui and Methven the figures were nearly doubled. Racing in Australia, Silver Ring scored a brilliant win in the Spring Stakes at the A.J.C. Meeting. Talking annexed the Derby, with its stake of £5,000.
