CLAY BIRD SHOOTING

DUNEDIN CUN CLUB A shoot was held on the Dunedin Gun Club’s ground at Green Island on Saturday afternoon in fine weather. In , the. eye-opener match (six birds) the following competitors broke six birds each:—G. E. Turner, S. F. Aburn, D. A. APLeod, P. E. Wood. L. J. Graham, and Dr Radcliffe. The main match was a 15-bird handicap, and resulted in a tie, Dr Radcliffe and W. Elliott breaking 15 birds each. In order to give members some practice for the Otago clay pigeon championship, which will be held on the club’s grounds next Saturday, a ninebird match was fired from the 18yds mark. This resulted in a tie. the following four competitors breaking nine birds each:—E. P. Graham (all first barrel), W. Elliott (all first barrel), R. Graham, and J. K. Regg. The shooting concluded with a double rise (three pair). J. K. Begg and W. Elliott tied with six breaks each, and decided to shoot off for the prise, which was won by J. K. Begg. Mr A. Adamson was the referee. The scores in the 15-bird handicap were as follow ;
