SERVICES OF MR HANDS RETAINED [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 4. It was announced on Saturday by tba Prime Minister (Mr Savage) that although Professor J. Shelley, who will not take up the duties of Director of Broadcasting until December, would ba charged with the full direction of the Government’s policy in regard to broadcasting, the services of Mr E. C. Hands* formerly general manager for the Broadcasting Board, and still to all intents and purposes the administrative head of the National Broadcasting Service, would ba retained, and he would act in the capacity of business manage? of the broadcasting service.
