PHYSICAL EDUCATION SOCIETY
NEW CONSTITUTION ADOPTED A meeting of the newly-formed Physical' Education Society of Otago was held on Saturday evening, when the president (Mr A. P. Roydhouse) occupied the chair. There were also pre* sent Misses Greenwood, Miller, John- 1 ston, and Brewer (secretary), and Messrs J. P. Northey, J. V, Hanna, and H. Baldock. The new constitution was submitted to the meeting, and adopted. Meetings will be held on the first Saturday of each month, the committee being instructed to arrange for suitable lecture* and demonstrations. The Wellington Physical Training Teachers’ Association wrote regarding the suggested appointment of Lovelock as national director of physical .education for New Zealand, and asking for the Otago Society’s attitude on the matter. —After a full discussion it was decided to write to the Wellington Association and point out that, as the Otago Society had little or no definite knowledge of Lovelodk’s qualifications for the suggested position, it was not prepared to express an opinion in the meantime, but that it would be pleased to receive anv information that might be in the hands of the Wellington Association. . It was decided to communicate with the Minister of Internal Affairs, asking that, if it was at all possible, Lovelock should meet the society and give it the benefit of his experiences in the world the physical training.
