NATIONAL BOARD MEETING OF Y.W.C.A.
Mrs P. Leith Ritchie left by the second express to-day to attend a meet- 1 ing of the National Board of the Y.W.C.A. of New Zealand, which will open in Wellington on Tuesday. Mrs C. M. Begg, Miss Francis Ross, and Miss Delight Lynn will travel north on Monday to attend the conference. Dr Sylvia Chapman, of Wellington, national president, will preside, and as this is the first time the board has met since her return from Geneva she will deliver a message from the World Executive Committee. Mrs H. D._ Bennett, of Wellington, vice-pVesident. will welcome the delegates, yrho will come from all over New Zealand. Subjects to be discussed include the need for a national programme secretary in New Zealand, training, salary scale, insurance, and combined work with the Y.M.C.A.
Miss Phyllis Hindle, of Palmerston North, formerly of Dunedin, will introduce the subject of organisation and programme work for smaller centres. There will also be a round-table conference on questions of political and social urgency in connection with Y.W.C.A. work.
