FORESTERS
The quarterly meeting of Court Pride of the Leith was held on Wednesday last, when there was a large attendance of members present, under the direction of the 0.R., Bro. T. Safey. The meeting opened in mourning in memory of the late P.C.R. and trustee, Bro. John Abbott. The judges of the recent general efficiency competition reported that the court had gained third place therein. It was agreed to fall in with the suggestion from the Otago U.F.S. Council that the fees of the medical officers be increased to the rate which was in force in 1931. An official visit was received from tire district treasurer, Bro. J. Hope, district secretary, Bro. J. K. Macfie, D.AV. Bro. E. Clayton, and D.B. Bro. D. D. Thomson. The invitation from Court Little John to bo represented at its fortyeighth anniversary celebrations was accepted. Congratulations were extended to Court Pride of Green Island on winning the Ritual Shield. The election of officers for the ensuing term resulted as follows: —C.R., Bro. N. L. Croft; S.C.R., Bro. A. J. Collins; C.T., Bro. C. C. Robertson (re-elected); C. Bro. J. K. Macfie (re-elected) ; S.W., Bro. C. H. Sandom; J.W., Bro. Z. Williams; 5.8., Bro. W. J. Mercer; J. 8., Bro. G. T. M‘Kersey; assistant secretary, Bro. J. L. Dunnett; trustee, Bro. F. G. Ellis; auditor, Bro. W. J. Duncan (re-elected) ; Juvenile Management Committee— Bros. W. A. Nelson, N. L. Croft, C. H. Sandom, W. J. Mercer, L R. Wiffen, H. C. R. Spence, A. Wheeler, Z. Williams, and G. T. M'Kersey; delegates to next annual meeting of the United Otago District—Bros. H. Brown, H. W. Cockburn, N. L. Croft, W. J. Duncan, F. G. Ellis, A. W. Jones, W. A. Nelson, C. C. Robertson, and C. H. A. Slack. Nominations for district officers: —For D.T., Bro. J. Hope; for D. 8., Bro. W. A. Nelson. Congratulations were extended to P.C.R. Bro. W. J. Duncan on his election as president of the Otago Cricket League. Tho newly-elected officers were installed by the district officers, and all returned thanks for their election. The toast of the District Executive was responded to by the D.S., D. and D.B. The Foresters’ tribute to the fallen was ably rendered by Bro. C. C. Robertson, and honoured in silence. On behalf of tho court the D.T. presented the certificate and collar of office to P.C.R. Bro. H. M'Ewan, who returned thanks, and the D.B. presented the Williamson .Membership Cup to P.C.R. Bro. F. J. Kitto, who had introduced tho largest number of new members during the year.. Prior to the close of the meeting three new members were admitted in the usual manner, and the meeting closed at a late hour.
