EMPIRE DEVELOPMENT
RESUMPTION OF MIGRATION NEED FOR CAREFUL CONTROL. Press Association — By Telegraph —Copyright LONDON, September 30. The ‘ Daily Telegraph,’ in a leader on the Australian migration proposals, Boys: “ Both Australia and New Zealand have good economic reasons for inriting British settlers again. There is no prospect of the outflow of population from Britain rising to anything comparable to the pre-war outflow. It would be delusory to expect any great reduction in the numbers of British unemployed. The new movement must be controlled, and the colonists carefully selected. We shall reap a harvest in the strengthening of Empire development and in general prosperity.”
