For some time past a strong band of workers under tha leadership of Lady Sidey has been making preparations for the effort, and this morning a number of stalls, which, had been erected in the principal streets, were well stocked with a variety of goods which found a ready sale. Stalls were erected at the following positions:—Opposite the new post office, the Bank of New Zealand corner, the A.M.P.. corner, opposite the City Hotel, the H.B. corner, and at the corner of Moray Place and Princes street. In addition to these, numerous box collectors, were stationed at strategic points throughout the city. Chief among the goods on the stalls were enormous baskets of daffodils, many of which came from the well-known Wetherstone gardens. Others were from the Dunedin Botamo Gardens, and there was also a consienment from the estate of Sir Heaton. Rhodes, Tai Tapu, Canterbury. As the result of a canvas by Lady bmey and Mrs Sandford.
