EMERGENCY MEASURES APPROVED BY KING Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 27. The ‘ Daily Mail ’ says that the King, at a meeting of the Privy Council at Balmoral, approved the emergency measures for Palestine and signed the necessary Orders-in-Council enabling the proclamation of martial law unless the Arabs at the eleventh hour decide to abandon terrorism. TERRORISM CONTINUES LONDON, vSeptember 28. (Received September 29, at 1.5 p.m.) The Government, in to-morrow night’s ‘ London Gazette,’ will announce new powers for the authorities in Palestine. They are expected to include martial law in certain districts. Acts of terrorism continue. It is reported from Jerusalem that the Iraq pipeline was again set on fire. New troops, numbering 1,450, have arrived at Haifa.
