BANK OF N.Z. TOURNEY The second annual Bank of New Zealand tournament for the Otago Golf Cup was placed at Balrnacewen yesterday. Conditions were against good golf being played, rain falling intermittently. Nevertheless, some good scores were recorded. Competitors from the bank’s offices throughout Otago competed in the tournament. The winter of the cup is decided by the best net score registered on two rounds of stroke play. This year, the cup was won by 1. I. Lascelles, of the Dunedin office, who returned a net score of 150. The trophy for the best gross round was won by R. G. Hay-Maokenzie, with a score of 83. . The morning stroke competition was won by R. Hunter, and in the afternoon’s play N. E. Jolly was the winner. _ T The best net scores were:—l. I. Lascellcs 150, R. G. Hay-Mackenzie 151, S. S. The Marlborough provincial golf championship, in which a field of 70 competed, was won this afternoon by G. P. Roberts (Hutt), who defeated G. M. Rogers (Marlborough Sounds) one up. LEGAL MEH ON LINKS [Per United Press Association.] PALMERSTON N., September 28. The legal profession’s annual golf tournament was won by F. P. Fawcett, of Feilding, who beat A. E. Lowry, of Napier, 2 and 1.
