RETURNING AFTER FORTY YEARS
KNIGHT TO VISIT HIS HOMETOWN [Pee United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 28.. “ I am looking forward to visiting Palmerston North, my home town, said Sir Richard Linton, the former AgentGeneral of Victoria in London. Sir Richard, who was knighted last June, arrived by the Awatea on a mission to advance trade interests between Britain and the dominions in furtherance ot the Ottawa agreement. ' ■ ... Sir Richard was the founder of the “ Big Brother ” movement in Australia, which, before the depression, brought out 2,000 English youths and settled them in Australia. He said to-day that none of these who had stuck to the movement had been unemployed. Sir. Richard was present at the christening of the Awatea, and said that Viscount and Lady Bledisloe asked him to give their love to the New Zealand people. He leaves on Friday for Wellington, and then goes on to Palmerston, which he left 40 years ago next month.
