LAWN TENNIS

TRINITY METHODIST CLUB The season for the above club was opened on Saturday, in fine weather. There was a large number of members and friends present, while representatives from the Dundas Street and St. Kilda Methodist Tennis Clubs also attended. After the president (Mr 11. B. Mason) had welcomed _ visitors-and expressed pleasure at seeing so many present, the Rev. H. Olds (patron), in a happy speech, officially opened the season. The club captain (Mr E. H. Lamb) also spoke. Afternoon tea was then served, after which members and several visitors enjoyed games. From the form displayed by many of the old members and also by the new members Trinity should be fielding strong teams. Keen competition still prevails for places, and challenges are already being entered.
