A rough wrestling contest at the Sydney Stadium between Tom Lurich and the American, Johnny Woods, ended in the sixth round, when Woods was unable to continue after a severe _ back slam. Woods bad secured a fall in the fourth round. At the Leichhardt Stadium Billy Meeske was disqualified in the fifth round of a bout with the Russian, Nick Dneprovsky. Each secured a fall. Joe Keatos defeated the New Zealander, Bob King, the former securing the only fall in the second round of a four-round contest.
