CAR CAN, GO ONLY A MILE
AND THAT’S IN A CIRCLE This car, on its longest run, will have to go in circles. It has just been imported into Brequhou, one of the smallest of the Channel islands. The longest journey it can do on the island is about a mile. And that is a circular route. Brequhou has an area of about 180 acres, lb is leased by Captain T. A. Clarke from the Crown. The surface is a large plateau, with cliffs and rocks. Captain Clarke has converted the rough track from the little jetty to ins house into a serviceable road on which the car will run. That run is only about 440yds. Tho small jetty at Brequhou is the only harbour. Tho car was swung ashore by a derrick which worked from two cliffs about 920 ft apart, at a height of about 100 ft. It was brought to tho top without mishap and driven to Captain Clarke’s house.
