RADIATOR OVERFLOW FIRE

Tho importance of seeing that the radiator overflow pipe is clear is shown by tho following story:— On a practically new car the top hose burst, and on this being replaced tho second went in the same way. The trouble could not be found, and only by accident manifested itself. On filling tho radiator it was noticed that the water did not flow through the overflow pipe, and with a piece of stout wire an accumulation of felt and sediment was dislodged l . Thus, with a tight-fitting radiator cap (with washer underneath), there was no escape for steam, which, of course, forced Tts way out at tho weakest point.
