Y.W.C.A.
WORLD FELLOWSHIP COMMITTEE At the monthly meeting of the World Fellowship Committee of the Y.W.C.A., held this week, correspondence was received from Yuki Kimura San, telling of the studies she has been pursuing in religious education, in Oberlin College, Ohio, and of her plans for a thesis to complete her master of arts in that subject. Kimura San spoke also of the work of the Y.W.C.A. in Pittsburgh, where there are five branches of the association controlled by a metropolitan board,, one branch of work being entirely among negroes. Miss Nessis Moncrieff wrote also from England, where she had lately attended the British- biennial conference, and was at the time about to assist with a girls’ camp on the eve of her departure for the regional conference to be held in Ceylon in October. During the meeting Miss Nixon led the fourth study session on ‘ Jesus Christ, Who He Is; What He Gives; What He Asks Us.’ Plans for celebrating the World’s Week of Prayer in November were also discussed. Material from periodicals to hand included the completion of a series on ‘ Women in Germany,’ by Miss Ruth Woodsmall; a note about the Congress of Youth, convened by the League of Nations, at which New Zealanders present will include Miss Black, principal of Archerfield School, and Miss Margaret Mawson, recently of Auckland Y.W.C.A.
