CENTENNIAL EXHIBITION

CANVASS FOR SUBSCRIBERS COMMENCED [Pee United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 25. The New Zealand Centennial Exhibition Company was registered on Tuesday, and the first meeting of the provisional directors was held to-day. The Mayor of Wellington (Mr T. C. ,A. Hislop) presided. Arrangements were made to set up committees to canvass for subscribers. Mr Hislop said that a considerable amount had already been promised, and it was anticipated that the amount required to go to allotment, £75,000, would be subscribed in a few weeks. The total capital of the company is £150,000.
