LADIES' CRICKET

MORNINGTON CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Mornington Ladies’ Cricket Club was held on Thursday evening last in Kenmure road, Mornington.' ’ The president (Mr P. M. Paape) presided over a large attendance of members and supporters of the club. The balance sheet was read and adopted, and the_ president congratulated the club on its financial standing after the first active year. The team was successful _in securing third place in the competition, and it was expected that it would do even better this year. The election of office-bearers resulted as follows : —Patroness, Mrs W. Ross ; president, Mr F. M. Paape; vice-pre-sidents—Messrs W. Hall, J. W. Paton, E. Nicholson, C. Sew Hoy, F. Blythe, C. H. Jamieson, J. Hope, M. Stewart, W. Meghae, E. M’Morran, A. E. Jelly, and Rev. E. T. Cox; club captain, Miss B. Campbell; deputy club captain, Miss R. S'ew Hoy; secretary and treasurer, Mrs C. Sew Hoy; committee— Misses B. Burns, B. Campbell, R. Sew Hoy, Messrs R. Rogers and J. Dey; delegates to the O/W.C.A., Miss B. Campbell and Mrs C. Sew Hoy; Selection Committee—Mrs C. Sew Hoy, Miss B. Campbell, and Miss B. Burns. A trophy presented by Mrs W. Ross was presented by the president to Miss B. Campbell for her outstanding allround play for the season. At the conclusion of the meeting the president impressed on members the importance of increasing membership during the forthcoming year, and cordially invited residents of Mornington to take a personal interest in the club. The tentative opening date was fixed for October 10.
