FREEZING DISPUTE

A PARTIAL AGREEMENT [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 26.' A partial agreement was reached between a committee of the North and South Freezing and Casings Companies’ Association and the representatives of the Wellington District Freezing Workers’ Union qnd the Otago and Southland pjstrict Union on September 24. Mr J. A. Milburn represented the Otago and Southland Union, and Messrs A. M'Leod, A. Baker, and J. Blair the Wellington Union. _ The matters in dispute were discussed seriatim, and a number of clauses agreed'to. No agreement was reached in the matter of hours of work and. hourly rates of pay, the employers refusing to agree to any .increase of rates of pay yi excess of the 1931 award rates, and it was agreed to refer these questions to the court for settlement.
