NEW ZEALAND LABOUR PARTY
The monthly meeting of the Mornington branch was held in the Mornington Tramways Hall. Mr J. Duff presided over an excellent attendance of members. After M r M'Neill bad given his reports on the carnival and O.L.R.C. social, members expressed their appreciation of tho full reports always given by Mr M'Neill. Air Wilson reported on the success of the debating I earn in their debate against Roslyii-IJelloknowcs branch, and the following members wore selected to represent Mornii’gton in the return debate i—Mc-srs Wilson (leader), Robson, M ‘Neill. Tho following motions were carried “ That tin's bran eh express its complete confidence in our Labour Government. thank it for the measure introduced on behalf of the workers, and pledge its wholehearted support to Mr Savage and his Covorument. “ That wages he paid on or before Wednesday of each week, so that shopping can be done before tho week-end, and thus allowing the shops to be closed all day Saturday, and so give the retail employees the benefit of the 40-hour week.”
